Successful Claim After Care Home Fall
Patient fell in the road under supervision of Care Assistants
Ellis Hass & Co recently succeeded in winning compensation for a lady whose mother, a long time Alzheimers sufferer, she was allowed to leave her care home by staff who unfortunately did not watch her closely enough. Whilst away from the care home she fell and suffered injuries including a broken shoulder.
On 19th August 2018 Mrs B, a resident under the care of staff at Arden Lodge Residential Home, followed a group of visitors out of the care home and onto the main road. Whilst following those individuals, who were not known to her and who were seemingly unaware of her presence, she crossed the main road and tripped up on the other side of the road’s kerb, fell to the ground, and sustained injuries.
Ellis Hass submitted a claim and after several months the Defendant admitted liability and a settlement was negotiated.
