FAMILY LAW

Family Law Mediation

Since 2011, it has been compulsory for parties wishing to issue court proceedings in respect of a family law dispute to attend a MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) where a trained Mediator will try to assist the parties to resolve any issues, whether relating to financial matters or children.

We are keen to help our clients to explore the possibilities of resolving any disputes without acrimonious and costly family litigation, and we will advise you if Mediation is suitable for you and, if so, we will arrange for a suitably qualified Mediator to become involved in order to see if any agreement can be reached at an early stage.

If mediation is successful in promoting an agreement which is fair to both parties, we will advise you and formalise the agreement into a legally binding document. You can rest assured that we will do our utmost to ensure that your interests are best protected, wither by Mediation if it is appropriate, or failing this by court proceedings to ensure that you, as our client, achieve the outcome to which you are entitled.
